Remembering Razia Baig Series
Remembering Razia Baig
The 'Remembering Razia Baig' series is a luminous tribute to a woman whose grace, vision, and unwavering dedication transformed the landscape of theatre and the performing arts. Begum Razia Baig, co-founder of the Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation, was a trailblazer who defied conventions, nurturing generations of artists while elevating the cultural fabric of the nation. Conceived by Padma Shri Mohammad Ali Baig, this initiative seeks to honor not only her indelible legacy but also the silent architects of the arts—women whose brilliance illuminated stages yet remained unsung.
A Grand Beginning
The inaugural evening of the Remembering Razia Baig series was a celebration of legacy, resilience, and artistic brilliance. Former Minister Geeta Reddy paid tribute to Begum Razia Baig’s pioneering spirit, while the spotlight shone on Ila Arun, whose autobiography Parde ke Peechhey was unveiled amidst warmth and nostalgia. Engaging readings, heartfelt reflections, and lively exchanges made the event a memorable tribute to the women who shaped the arts from behind the scenes. As Padma Shri Mohammad Ali Baig eloquently put it, this series is a homage to those who dared to dream beyond their time.
